Lutheran Foundation appreciates the important services provided by congregations and organizations in our community. We have chosen to focus our philanthropic efforts in six areas that address clearly defined, measurable community needs that allow us to better understand and determine our community impact. Organizations seeking funding should address one of our six Funding Focus Areas.

Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis is engaged in a comprehensive strategic planning process designed to honor our mission, strengthen our impact, and position the Foundation well for the years ahead. During this season of planning, Lutheran Foundation will not hold a June 2026 grant cycle. This pause allows us to carefully evaluate our priorities and ensure that our future grantmaking continues to effectively support churches, ministries, and nonprofit partners serving the St. Louis community.

We are grateful for the important work being done across our network and appreciate your partnership as we take this step to strengthen our organization for the future.

Because Lutheran Foundation of St. Louis is currently in the midst of a strategic planning process, we are not scheduling consultations at this time. While Lutheran Foundation favors funding requests from Lutheran congregations and organizations, any area church or organization that addresses one or more of the Foundation’s six Funding Focus Areas and complements our mission, vision and core values may submit an application.

Lutheran Foundation does not provide any funding to individuals. Grants are only awarded to organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation in good standing from the Internal Revenue Service.

The Foundation is typically open weekdays from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

After the first stoplight, take the first right into the building’s parking lot.  (If you come to Hunter Avenue at the second light, you have gone too far.) Pull around to the rear of the building and enter the south entrance. Our office is located on the second floor at the top of the steps.

From north St. Louis County: Take Interstate 270 to Interstate 170 south. Exit at Ladue Road and turn right and pass under I-170. After the first stoplight, take the first right into the building’s parking lot. (If you come to Hunter Avenue at the second light, you have gone too far.)
